Rejoice, dear readers! Bridgerton season 2 is finally here. The Shondaland series debuted season 1 on Christmas Day 2020 and became an overnight success for Netflix. The first season followed the love story between Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and The Duke, Simon Basset (Regé-Jean Page) as their will-they, won’t-they relationship unfolded. This time around, we’re watching Daphne’s brother Anthony Bridgerton’s (Jonathan Bailey) story, and boy is it another complicated one.

At the end of season 1, Anthony swears off true love and decides he’ll find a wife without feelings attached. The premiere of Bridgerton season 2 sees the new social season begin, and what’s to come is something Anthony could never imagine. As evidenced by the trailer, he falls in love! He just can’t stay away from a new character named Kate Sharma (Simone Ashley), even though he initially courts her younger sister, Edwina Sharma (Charithra Chandran).

Spoilers ahead for Bridgerton season 2.

If you’re here to find out how Bridgerton season 2 comes to a close, we’ve got all the juicy details you need below.

Do Anthony and Kate end up together in Bridgerton season 2?

Although they deny their feelings for each other throughout the season, Anthony and Kate finally profess their love in the finale and they end up together!

When Kate wakes up after her accident, Edwina no longer harbors ill will towards her and even approves of her romance with Anthony. She tells her older sister that she must make some decisions for herself, which, of course, includes love. Kate and Anthony share a dance at the ball in the finale, which gets everyone’s attention. People suspect Kate could be the reason Anthony and Edwina called off their wedding, but the Queen insists it was her decision.

After their dance, Kate and Anthony find one another outside, which is where the big conversation takes place! They finally let down their walls and admit they love each other, and they share a passionate kiss. They agree to get married, meaning Kate will no longer go back to India.

In the final moments of Bridgerton season 2, we get a flash-forward of Kate and Anthony happily married, sharing a steamy NSFW scene before going outside to play a game of Pall Mall. It’s a much-deserved happily-ever-after for the twosome, who fans have already started calling “Kathony.”

Who finds out about Lady Whistledown’s identity in Bridgerton season 2?

Madame Delacroix (Kathryn Drysdale) finds out that Lady Whistledown is Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) earlier in the season, but it’s not until the finale when another discovers the truth. And it’s a very important person. Penelope’s best friend Eloise Bridgerton (Claudia Jessie) finally figures it all out after a gossipy conversation with Penelope gives her alter ego away. Eloise sneaks into Penelope’s room to confirm her suspicions, and Penelope catches her. The two have a fight, unfortunately, but that doesn’t stop Penelope.

The final moments of Bridgerton season 2 also see Penelope writing a new letter, meaning she’s not giving up on Lady Whistledown just yet.

Though Bridgerton season 2 ends on a happy note for our main couple, some of the other characters aren’t so lucky. We’ll be curious to see what happens between Eloise and Penelope in Bridgerton season 3, which is confirmed but does not yet have a release date. We just got word from Shonda Rhimes that the next seasons won’t “necessarily” follow the order of the books, meaning we don’t know what season 3 be about right now.
