Jack Black will star in Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight for Netflix

On National Panda Day, March 16, Netflix revealed that Jack Black, 52, is returning to his most successful animated franchise as Po in Netflix’s new upcoming Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight series. The streamer teased the return of the actor to the new animated series in a social media post on Twitter, sharing four stills from the new show with the caption:

"“Get ready for PANDA-monium. No better way to celebrate National Panda Day than by announcing Jack Black’s return as Po in the new animated series, Kung Fu Panda: the Dragon Knight.”"

Jack Black returns to Kung Fu Panda

The news of Jack’s return to the role — which he previously won an award for in 2012 for Kung Fu Panda 2 — was met with a great response from long-term fans, with many taking to their social media to share their excitement.

“I AM SO EXCITED!!!! REALLY HOPE TIGRESS AT LEAST MAKES A CAMEO,” one Twitter user wrote, with another adding, “Best news I’ve heard all week! Can’t wait to see (or is it hear? 🤣) Jack Black as Po!!”

Jack Black originally starred in the Dreamworks franchise movies of Kung Fu Panda, but when it came to the popular TV series Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness and Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny, the actor decided to step away from his famous role and he was replaced in the series with Mick Wengert. However, it now appears that Jack Black is ready to return to his Kung Fu loving role as Po, having also confirmed the news on his TikTok.
