Women in horror: Choi Nam-ra from All of Us Are Dead

There are several awesome female characters in the popular South Korean zombie apocalypse series All of Us Are Dead, but Choi Nam-ra stands out as one of the best. In the beginning of the show, she’s depicted as the cold and aloof class president, but Nam-ra becomes a vital part of the story and one of the most compelling main characters.

Not only does she stand up against Lee Na-yeon after her repeated bullying and harassment (and murder) of Han Gyeong-su, but by season’s end, Nam-ra has transformed into a powerful half-zombie hybrid after getting bitten. Somehow she manages to fend off the infection enough to not attack people, even though voices in her head try to convince her to become a predator.

Women in horror: Prudence Blackwood from Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Prudence Blackwood is one of the most exciting and intriguing characters on Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and most fans agree that her relationship with Ambrose was a high point, especially in later seasons when many felt the series started to go downhill.

It’s unfortunate the writers didn’t really give Prudence the amount of attention and story consideration that she deserved, but even what we were given was incredibly memorable. Despite starting out as a typical mean girl, Prudence shows a lot of depth throughout the series and her backstory is actually quite tragic. It would have been amazing to get a spinoff series focusing on her.
