Nancy, Joyce, Max, Robin and Erica have all helped save the day on more than one occasion. And let’s not forget the lasting impact of Barb and the never-ending debates about whether or not what happened to her was fair!

Women in horror: Samantha and Deena from Fear Street

Kiana Madeira actually makes this list twice since she pulled double duty (like most of the cast) in Fear Street. Not only did she play one of the main characters and one-half of the central couple in the 1994 timeline, but she also played Sarah Fier, one of her descendants, in the 1666 film. Sam and Deena are the main protagonists in the first Fear Street movie.

They work together to save their friends and their entire town. Plus, it’s rare we see a queer couple anchoring a movie, nonetheless an entire trilogy, and it was great to see Sam and Deena playing against each other in these movies.
