A new weekend is here, so it’s time to catch up on the recent Netflix movies released. Here are our five top picks for this weekend, including Windfall.

There have been some great releases this week on Netflix. A lot of them are TV shows. You’re likely going to spend some time working through Bad Vegan: Fame. Fraud. Fugitives and Human Resources. There have also been some excellent shows from previous weeks, including the final season of The Last Kingdom.

What about movies? Sometimes, you have time to watch something for two hours, and you don’t want to be left feeling bad that you can’t get the answers to questions right away. That means you want some good Netflix movies to check out. There are some excellent picks for this weekend.

5 must-watch Netflix movies this weekend

This list is in alphabetical order. As usual, there are multiple genres to cover all needs, and we can’t compare the genres.

A Walk Among the Tombstones

Liam Neeson has some excellent movies, and A Walk Among the Tombstones is one to watch. It’s on Netflix right now.

Neeson plays a former NYPD officer, Matt Scudder. He’s now an unlicensed detective and ends up with a drug trafficker as a client. The drug trafficker’s wife has been kidnapped and brutally murdered, and he wants revenge. Scudder delves deep into the entire operation, and it soon takes him through the back streets of NYC to catch the killers.

Black Crab

Noomi Rapace is in the next of the Netflix movies to watch, Black Crab. This Swedish action thriller is set in a post-apocalyptic world. Six soldiers head out on a covert mission to get a mysterious package across a frozen archipelago.

Of course, there are questions about what’s in the package. There are also forces they’ll face along the way as it’s a dog eats dog world in any post-apocalyptic movie.

Catherine Cohen: The Twist…? She’s Gorgeous

Technically this isn’t a movie; it’s a special. I tend to count specials as movies, though. They tend to last as long as or a little less than most Netflix movies anyway.

Catherine Cohen takes the stage in this comedy special. If you’ve seen her other content, you’ll know she a comic to watch. Some of the topics she covers in this one are looking for love, the absurdity of marathons, and burying someone alive. All the normal stuff, right?

Rescued By Ruby

Need a feel-good movie? The Flash actor Grant Gustin has us covered with Rescued By Ruby. This is certainly one of the biggest Netflix movies of the week.

It’s based on a true story (and the real dog Ruby is still working, so this dog shouldn’t die at the end!) and it follows a state trooper with dreams of joining the K-9 unit. He’s laughed out of the idea, but it remains a dream, and he ends up rescuing a pup with very little time left to prove that they’re both worth a shot.

Windfall

We end the list with a big crime drama starring Lily Collins, Jesse Plemons, and Jason Segel. Segel plays a man who decides to break into a tech billionaire’s vacation home. The tech billionaire isn’t meant to be there, but just as the man breaks in, the tech billionaire arrives with his wife.

The movie turns into a drama as the man is caught. He decides to turn it into a hostage situation, but it’s clear that he has no idea what he’s doing. This is also very personal.
