Euphoria star Javon Walton joins The Umbrella Academy season 3

A new cast member of The Umbrella Academy season 3 has been announced, and it’s someone many of us are already familiar with. Euphoria star Javon Walton, otherwise known as Ashtray, has joined the cast for the third installment, and we shared everything we know about his casting here.

We’re not really surprised by him joining the cast because there were rumors that he’d be in the third season earlier this year. In fact, those rumors started from Javon himself. In January 2022, Javon spoke with Complex and explained how his role as Ashtray on Euphoria led to other big opportunities. Javon said, “I have some other projects coming up soon and I’m super excited about that. I’m on Umbrella Academy for their new season, Season 3. I got that.”

At the time, fans were elated to hear that they’d be seeing more of Javon on screen, but Netflix hadn’t confirmed the rumors. Many fans were already hoping Javon’s character (Ashtray) on Euphoria would get more screentime on the teen series. So, finding out that he’d possibly be in one of Netflix’s top original series was great news.

Almost two months after the rumor started, Netflix has finally spoken on the rumor. On March 1, the official Netflix Twitter account tweeted that Javon Walton had officially joined The Umbrella Academy season 3 cast.

Who will Javon Walton portray in The Umbrella Academy season 3?

Unfortunately, Netflix is keeping hush-hush on who Javon will be playing in the third season. However, we know that he can’t be one of the Sparrow Academy’s students since their roles have already been filled. Hopefully, Netflix will release the juicy details about the new character soon. You can count on us to share this information when it’s released!

The Umbrella Academy season 3 release updates

Netflix still has yet to announce the official release date for season 3, so everything is entirely speculation. However, we do know that the third season is coming in 2022. If we had to give our best guess on when we think the third season could come to Netflix, we would say spring 2022 at the earliest. Since production wrapped back in August, the show has been in post-production for almost seven months. The typical amount of time a Netflix show takes in post-production is about six to eight months. So Netflix could announce the release date any day now.

We could see The Umbrella Academy season 3 as early as April, but Netflix will have to make the announcement sometime this month for an April release to be possible. Again, this is completely speculation. The actual release date could be later than our prediction.
