Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life and 4 other long shot Netflix shows that could be renewed in 2022

It’s a series that’s probably referenced on a daily basis based on what’s happening in the world, but it’s run was seemingly cut short after the release of its fifth season. Black Mirror kicked off a remarkable run in 2011 in the UK before moving to Netflix in 2016.

The anthology series has released 22 episodes across five seasons and a film titled Bandersnatch, all of which have been well-received by critics and earned high-profile award nominations and wins. There’s no doubt that the demand for more Black Mirror hasn’t dissipated.

Unfortunately, creator Charlie Booker pushed pause on continuing right onto Black Mirror season 6 due to the shift in the societal mood in the wake of the pandemic and the rise of social justice issues in 2020. It’s unclear where the series’ fate stands as of February 2022.

But the series never quite adhered to a specific release pattern, at least until it moved to Netflix. Black Mirror fans became accustomed to new content each year, and it’s been north of three years since season 5’s release. Who knows? 2022 could be the year of a welcome comeback.
