Many people couldn’t help but love Black Mirror when it premiered on Netflix in 2011. It was so unique and different from other TV shows during that time period that fans constantly wanted more. And Netflix had no problem granting all of our wishes and renewed the Netflix original series for five seasons. But where is Black Mirror season 6? Season 6 didn’t come in June, July or August. So, should we be expecting a new season at all?

Black Mirror is an anthology show created by Charlie Brooker and is based on The Twilight Zone. Each episode of Black Mirror is its own story with a different cast of actors. However, each story centers around the same theme: how technology is negatively affecting the world.

Black Mirror season 5 was released on Netflix in 2019, and fans of the series flocked to the streamer to watch all three episodes. Unfortunately, those three episodes just weren’t enough, and many wondered why we didn’t get to see six episodes like seasons 3 and 4.

Even with the positive critical response and the many awards, the science fiction series still hasn’t returned for a season 6. This leads us to question if Black Mirror season 6 is ever going to happen.

Will there be a Black Mirror season 6?

We hope so. There hasn’t been an official renewal or cancellation. It’s been pretty quiet about if there will be a season 6, but we try to remain hopeful. In May 2020, Radio Times spoke with the sci-fi show‘s creator to discuss plans for a season 6.

When asked about his plans for Black Mirror season 6, Brooker was very vague about if we’ll see this anthology series on our screens again. We provide you with what he said below.

"“At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those. I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh.”"

This was a reasonable response because of the COVID-19 pandemic and all, but I think many of us can separate our personal lives from TV, right? We just want to see more thought-provoking episodes.

We have to keep in mind that Brooker never said that season 5 would be the last season. Instead, he kept it positive and said he’s not opposed to creating a season 6, just not in the near future. So, don’t give up on Black Mirror!

We’ll keep you updated as we find out more information about Black Mirror season 6.
