Netflix is adding 19 new movies and shows this week

A new week has arrived and that means Netflix is adding a bunch of new movies and shows to their lineup. But while Valentine’s Day might be this week, Netflix’s new additions are not very romantic.

This week brings a remake of a classic horror movie, a new season of a Netflix Original space show, and a new season of a gritty detective series.

The newest remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre is hitting Netflix on Friday, Feb. 18, 2022. Leatherface is back after going into hiding for 50 years and he’s back to killing.

A group of friends accidentally disrupt the remote Texas town he’s been hiding in and pays severely for doing so.

Netflix adding Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Space Force this week

The trailer starts with a car crashing into a field of what looks like dead sunflowers. Nothing good ever happens in a field in horror movies!

Space Force season 2 is also coming to Netflix this week on Friday, Feb. 18, 2022. The Netflix Original series follows a group of people trying to create a new branch of Armed Forces: The Space Force. They must “get boots on the moon” by 2024.

Season 2 will start where the last one left off with the other Armed Forces trying to remove General Mark L Naird from the Space Force and replace him with someone much more aggressive.

The series stars Steve Carrell, John Malkovich, Ben Schwarz, Diana Silvers, Tawny Newsome, and Jimmy O. Yang.

The first season did not get great reviews so here’s hoping the second season is better.

This week also brings the second season of Young Wallander. Young Wallander: Killer’s Shadow hits Netflix on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2022. The series is based on the character from the books by Henning Mankell.

The show follows young Kurt Wallander who is returning to the police force despite quitting at the end of season 1. It looks like a new crime is bringing him back into the fold.

If you’ve seen the original series or read the books, you know he’s a detective so he had to go back to being a cop at some point.
