Rhimes’ Bridgerton will release its second season on Netflix on March 25. This series is one of 2022’s most highly anticipated series, so it is exciting to see she also has another project coming soon. She has signed a multi-year deal with Netflix, so we will be seeing many of her productions. Inventing Anna is the first Rhimes has written for the streamer.

Inventing Anna is created and produced by Rhimes and stars Ozark actress Julia Garner as the titular character. Rhimes co-wrote the series with Betsy Beers and David Frankel directed two episodes and served as executive producer.

The limited series will consist of nine episodes that will also star Anna Chlumsky, Katie Lowes, Laverne Cox, Alexis Floyd, Arian Moayed, Anders Holm, Anna Deavere Smith, Jeff Perry, and Terry Kinney.

The miniseries Inventing Anna is based on a true story published in The Cut for New York. The article is titled “How Anna Delvey Tricked New York’s Party People,” written by Jessica Pressler. The story recounts the tale of a woman, Anna Delvey, who would trick the New York rich and famous into believing she was a German heiress set to inherit $65 million.

The Russian-born German whose real name is Anna Sorokin would go on to con many of New York’s wealthy people, banks, and hotels. The story follows Anna and the journalist (Chlumsky), who is out to prove herself by investigating the story. Delvey was a legendary Instagram sensation who stole the hearts of New Yorkers along with their money.
