How many Oscar nominations did Netflix get in 2022?

The highly anticipated Oscar nominations for 2022 were announced on Tuesday, Feb. 8, and so many stars have landed their first Academy Award nomination. These days, Netflix has surpassed its first Oscar nominations and wins, especially with the impressive 2022 haul.

Of course, there were lots of buzz-worthy titles vying for recognition from the Academy, but some A-listers (Lady Gaga! Leonardo DiCaprio! Ruth Negga!) wound up snubbed. As much as we wish all of our favorite could have scored a nomination, some great Netflix movies and stars made this year another historic victory lap for the streamer.

By now, anyone keeping track of the Oscar nominations knows Netflix’s original film The Power of the Dog leads this year’s lot with the most nominations. Following closely behind the critically acclaimed Western’s 12 nods, Dune trails with 10 nominations.

But how many Oscar nominations did Netflix net in total this year? Below we’re sharing the exact number of nominations that puts Netflix in first place, as well as some of the streamer’s top honors going into the big night on March 27.

Netflix Oscar nominations 2022

Although different figures had been floating around, Netflix confirmed the streamer received an impressive 27 Oscar nominations, putting them ahead of any other streaming service.

Netflix celebrated its whopping 27 nominations via the Netflix Film Twitter account with a special video singling out each nominated film. Check it out below!

In 2022, Netflix boasts two Best Picture contenders with Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog and Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up.

Netflix also makes up seven of the nominations across the four acting categories. Olivia Colman, Benedict Cumberbatch, Andrew Garfield, Jessie Buckley, Kirsten Dunst, Jesse Plemons, and Kodi Smit-McPhee each received nods for their performances in the Netflix movies The Lost Daughter, The Power of the Dog, and Tick, Tick… Boom!

Campion also received nominations for Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Director for The Power of the Dog, while Maggie Gyllenhaal was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for The Lost Daughter and Adam McKay was nominated for Best Original Screenplay for Don’t Look Up.
