Following the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home in December of last year, Marvel fans anticipate being able to relive every second of the film once again but this time from the comfort of their own homes.

Though fans will still be able to do just that, if they are Netflix users, they may have to change their plans of viewing the 2021 film on the platform. Spider-Man: No Way Home is not streaming on Netflix just yet and will instead stream on a different platform.

What brought about this sudden change, and where will No Way Home stream now? Here’s what we know.

Why isn’t Spider-Man: No Way Home coming to Netflix?

Currently, there’s no official answer as to why this Marvel film won’t be arriving on Netflix, but we speculate it may have something to do with deals struck prior to the site’s new deal with Sony Pictures.

In case you didn’t know, last year, Netflix and Sony partnered up in an effort to bring movie-lovers loads of new content to stream at their leisure. This partnership, which kick-started this year, would allow Netflix to stream Sony Pictures’ 2022-2026 theatrical releases. Despite this being the agreed-upon proposal, it seems that No Way Home was excluded for the time being, most likely because Sony had to honor their previous partnerships before honoring their new Netflix deal.

Of course, we’ll keep you up to date when (or if) Netflix does acquire Spider-Man: No Way Home. While you wait for more updates, read on to find out where Sony decided the Marvel movie will arrive first and foremost.

Where to stream Spider-Man: No Way Home

In the past, Tom Holland’s Spider-Man films usually premiered on Starz first, hence why, once again, Starz will be the first streaming site to acquire Spider-Man: No Way Home.

According to IGN, the site’s CEO Jeffrey Hirsch predicts fans should be able to view the film in about six months, but being that Starz is currently undergoing a rather long process where they want audiences to stay beyond watching No Way Home, this date still seems to be up in the air. Additionally, with no other platforms announcing an earlier release date (nor any release date for that matter), it seems both fans who have watched the film and fans who have not will have to wait until Summer 2022 to see this film.

Hopefully, this changes in the near or distant future, especially considering Sony’s deal with Netflix. Until then, we’ll wait patiently alongside you and bring you updates as soon as we know more.
