Who is the mystery woman at the end of Sweet Magnolias season 2? (SPOILERS)

Sweet Magnolias season 2 has finally arrived and fans have wasted no time in booking their tickets back to Serenity, South Carolina to enjoy the highly anticipated second season of Netflix’s beloved drama.

Picking up right where season 1 left off, Sweet Magnolias season 2 deals with the fallout of the car accident that left fans in shock while also providing resolution to many of season 1’s additional unresolved storylines such as the identities of Isaac’s birth parents and Ronnie’s return to Serenity.

The season also introduced several new plotlines across the season to get fans talking, including a surprising moment in the season finale that introduced viewers to a mysterious woman who seems to have a complicated past with the Sweet Magnolias.

Who was the woman at the end of Sweet Magnolias?

In the season 2 finale, Sweet Magnolias introduces viewers to a mystery woman who makes her official debut in a scene in which she confronts Annie after an unexpected run-in, at which time she refers to Dana Sue as a homewrecker — a moment that hinted at bad blood between the woman and the Magnolias.

Later in the episode, Ty shows his mom a post on the Serenity Secrets Instagram account which shows the woman, who we learn is named Kathy via the episode’s credits, slashing the tire of one of Sullivan’s delivery trucks.

While Maddie, Helen and Dana Sue fail to provide any context to their relationship, it is revealed that Kathy is someone from their past who seems to have it out for Dana Sue, in particular.

Kathy on Sweet Magnolias actress

Although little is known about the character of Kathy, one thing that is known is the character is played by actress Wynn Everett who viewers might recognize from some of her many TV appearances in series such as Doom Patrol, Teenage Bounty Hunters, Agent Carter and most recently Ordinary Joe. 

Considering the way in which Kathy was introduced in the season 2 finale, it’s clear the character is primed to have a bigger role in Sweet Magnolias season 3 which should help to provide further insights on Kathy’s history with the Magnolias and what brings her back to town.
