Does anyone die in the Sweet Magnolias season 2 premiere?

After a longer than anticipated hiatus, Sweet Magnolias season 2 finally arrived on Feb. 4 with a season packed with drama!

Of course, the biggest burning question heading into the season was the identity of Kyle’s passenger and the mystery over whether Kyle and his passenger would survive the car accident that shocked viewers as the season came to a close.

Fortunately, the writers wasted no time at all in addressing the cliffhanger that kept fans talking all throughout the break with the new season picking up right where the season ended on prom night.

The Sweet Magnolias season 2 premiere delivered a shocking conclusion to the car crash storyline, but did anyone die in the opening hour of the season?

Did anyone die in the car crash in Sweet Magnolias season 2?

As season 2 began, it was quickly revealed that the two individuals in the car were Kyle and Nellie. Following their accident, both Kyle and Nellie were transported to the hospital for emergency treatment and it definitely was looking touch and go there for a moment. Fortunately, both Kyle and Nellie pulled through and the accident did not lead to any deaths.

While the pair did survive the accident, the show didn’t just jump ahead and glaze over the traumatic experience which played a large role in both characters’ story arc across the season.

Considering Sweet Magnolias’ status as one of our favorite feel-good dramas, we have to confess we were more than a little relieved that no one died in the car crash! Though we’ll warn you, just because there wasn’t a death in the season premiere that doesn’t mean a shocking death didn’t occur in season 2.
