When will Grey’s Anatomy season 19 be on Netflix?

It’s no secret that Grey’s Anatomy is one of the most popular enduring favorites on television. Nearly 20 years into an incredible run on ABC, the longest-running medical drama shows no signs of slowing down as Grey’s Anatomy season 19 was officially ordered.

Season after season, it’s been a question whether the series would finally come to an end and when. Ellen Pompeo, who has led the series as the titular Meredith Grey since its premiere in 2005, has been fueling those finale rumors for years — even before the most recent renewal.

But all’s well that ends well for Meredith Grey and Ellen Pompeo as the star inked a new one-year deal to reprise her role and take on a new role as an executive producer. On Jan. 11, ABC president Craig Erwich stated that the future of the series was up to Pompeo, showrunner Krista Vernoff, and creator Shonda Rhimes.

Of course, in the short term, that future includes Grey’s Anatomy season 19 following up the eighteenth season in the fall. When does the next season premiere on ABC, and when can fans binge-watch new episodes on Netflix?

Grey’s Anatomy season 19

As of January 2022, ABC has not announced the Grey’s Anatomy season 19 premiere date, though we can assume the series will return sometime in late September 2022, barring any further pandemic-related setbacks.

In the past, new seasons of Grey’s Anatomy have come to Netflix about one month following their televised finale date. Depending on how many episodes season 19 will contain, those episodes should find their way to the streamer around June 2022. That’s an estimate and could change when ABC announces official details.

Lately, there have been rumors that Grey’s Anatomy could leave Netflix, potentially for the Disney-owned streaming service Hulu, though it doesn’t appear to be happening anytime soon. Still, it’s a possibility in the near future, should the series come to an end.
