Enola Holmes 2 release date updates: Filming has wrapped on the sequel

Even though 2021 was a great year for Netflix movies with hits like Red Notice and The Unforgivable topping the charts, 2022 already looks to be a showstopper. There’s great news for Millie Bobby Brown fans impatiently awaiting Enola Holmes 2.

The Stranger Things star headlined the hit mystery movie in 2020 after a planned theatrical release was scrapped in favor of a Netflix release. Obviously, that move proved to be beneficial as the movie wound up one of the biggest Netflix movies of 2020.

Due to that success, Enola Holmes 2 was quickly greenlit by Netflix, and ahead of the highly anticipated summer 2022 release of Stranger Things season 4, Millie Bobby Brown has wrapped production on the upcoming sequel.

There’s no doubt that the Enola Holmes sequel will be one of the biggest movies coming to Netflix in 2022. Below we’re sharing the latest release date updates for the forthcoming blockbuster sequel, including new predictions for its release this year.

Is Enola Holmes 2 done filming?

On Jan. 7, Netflix shared a video on Twitter of the cast and crew celebrating the wrap of production. Enola Holmes 2 began filming in fall 2021.

Along with Netflix’s announcement of production’s wrap, the streamer also teased fans with this: “Until it premieres, enjoy this first clue to Enola’s next great adventure.” The clip shows Millie Bobby Brown and Louis Partridge hugging and dancing. Check it out below!

Enola Holmes 2 release date updates

Although it’s only January (as of this writing), Netflix already has quite the exciting original movie slate prepared for 2022. Depending on when other high-profile new movies and sequels are primed for release, we could be seeing Enola Holmes 2 sooner rather than later.

Now that it’s entered the post-production stage, which typically lasts for a handful of months, the earliest the sequel could premiere is summer 2022, making it the summer of MBB. But the movie could also have another fall release between September and November 2022.
