Outer Banks renewed for season 3 on Netflix

Netflix Lifers, it’s been a long time coming but Outer Banks season 3 has been greenlit!

The news was announced via the show’s Twitter account complete with an enthusiastic video featuring its cast. We’re headed back to Poguelandia where we last left John B., Sarah, Kie, JJ, Pope, and Cleo after they managed to escape the steamer they’d been on.

Empty handed again with nothing but each other and the clothes on their backs, we’ll be returned to them as they navigate next steps in the face of all they left behind.

Outer Banks season 3 release date predictions

With season 3 now officially announced, the production ball is likely to start rolling early in 2022. However, it’s unclear if it’ll be early enough for Outer Banks to make a July premiere like it did this year.

It could make either a late August or September drop which would be fitting considering the school year had just started in the second season before the Pogues were whisked away on another treasure hunting adventure.

As for confirmed cast returns, according to Deadline, Chase Stokes, Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, Austin North, Drew Starkey, and Charles Esten are all slated for season 3. Carlacia Grant, who played in Cleo in season 2, has been promoted to a series regular.
