Riverdale season 7 rumors: Is Riverdale really ending with season 7?

As time goes by and series begin getting up there in season numbers, there are always questions of when the series should or will end.

While The CW is good for giving show’s final seasons to wrap their storylines up, most of the network’s shows tend to wrap around the seven or eight-season mark. Considering, Riverdale is currently in its sixth season it’s no surprise that Riverdale fans have reached the point where a certain level of anxiousness is setting in regarding the future of the show.

So it doesn’t help when a member of the cast takes to social media and strongly suggests the series is about to ride off into the sunset.

Is Riverdale canceled?

During a recent Instagram Live, actress Lili Reinhart, who plays Betty Cooper in the series, seemed to suggest the series could soon be ending when she revealed to her followers watching that there was a strong possibility season seven will be the show’s last.

“I don’t know. We’re hoping for a season seven and then that will probably be the last one,” Reinhart admitted which has caused quite a stir among fans who are now fearful that Riverdale will soon be canceled by The CW.

So exactly how concerned should fans be with Reinhart’s comments? Well, that’s to be determined. What we can say with certainty, though, is that Riverdale has not been canceled nor has The CW confirmed when exactly the series will end.

Is there going to be a season 7 of Riverdale?

Although The CW has not yet renewed Riverdale for season 7, Riverdale is expected to come back for a seventh season as part of the 2022-23 season.

Traditionally, The CW tends to hand our renewals rather early in the season sometimes only a few weeks into the season such as how it renewed nearly its entire programming slate only three weeks into the new season earlier this year. As such, it’s entirely possible Riverdale season 7 could be announced before 2021 comes to a close!

When is Riverdale season 7 coming out?

Should The CW renew Riverdale for a seventh season as we anticipate it will do, fans should expect Riverdale season 7 to arrive sometime in fall 2022.

Considering The CW traditionally kicks off its fall lineup in October and Riverdale has been a mainstay on the fall schedule since its second season, it’s likely Riverdale season 7 will premiere in October 2022 and then arrive on Netflix sometime in 2023.
