26 best Netflix shows canceled or ending in 2021
Netflix shows canceled 2021
With December here, more Netflix shows are ending and getting canceled.
Overall, it’s been an awesome year for new Netflix shows, but unfortunately, nothing lasts forever. And, even more, unfortunately, some of the best Netflix shows have come to an end in 2021.
All good things must come to an end, and by the time 2021 comes to an end, we will have said goodbye to a number of Netflix original shows forever.
From buzzy new shows that didn’t stick the landing in 2020 to potential hits that just barely missed the mark, a few Netflix shows could very well not survive the strange content release landscape that is 2021.
We put together a list of all the Netflix shows canceled in 2021 and all the Netflix shows ending during the year. There have been a lot so far, and there will be more shows canceled at Netflix. We just have to hope we only lose a few favorites and no more!
It’s not all bad news, though. Netflix has also announced a bunch of Netflix renewals in 2021! And, it could have been so much worse. Because of the pandemic, Netflix was forced to delay some shows that would have ended this year, including Ozark, Grace and Frankie, Dead to Me, and more.
Let’s get the list started with Lost in Space.
UPDATED: Nov. 27, 2021
Lost in Space
Status: Renewed for season 3 (final season)

Of course, a handful of Netflix original series have already been designated for final seasons, ensuring fans closure rather than pulling the rug out from under them. One of those shows is the under-the-radar sci-fi reboot Lost in Space.
The series first premiered in 2018 but has since struggled to break out into the mainstream with a large audience and overwhelming fanfare. Once and for all, Lost in Space will return one last time in 2021 with its final season.
Lost in Space season 3 wrapped production in the spring of 2021. The final season is expected to be released in late 2021.
Based on the 1965 television series of the same name, which was also based on the novel The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann David Wyss, Lost in Space centers on the exciting adventures of a family of space colonists. However, the Robinsons experience a number of difficulties when their spaceship winds up way off course. Lost in Space has earned mostly positive reviews from critics and landed two Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Special Visual Effects. The series will return with its 10 final episodes in 2021, bringing another original series to an end.
