Best Netflix shows yet to be renewed

Netflix has renewed so many shows in 2021 (and canceled a few shows, too!).  We’ve already seen renewals for Cobra Kai, You, Bridgerton, The Witcher, Sex Education, Never Have I Ever, and so many more.

But, some of the best Netflix shows have slipped through the cracks. Fans are still waiting for renewals for a number of quality Netflix shows of 2021 (and even 2020).

We put together a list of the best Netflix shows still waiting on renewals in 2021. Let’s get the list started with one of my favorite Netflix original shows, Outer Banks. 

Outer Banks season 3

I still can’t believe I have to say this: Outer Banks has not been renewed for season 3. Netflix has not commented on the future of Outer Banks since the season 2 premiere on the streaming service on July 30, 2021.

The teen Netflix original series starring Madelyn Cline, Madison Bailey, Jonathan Daviss, Rudy Pankow, and Chase Stokes is one of the most popular shows of 2021. It seems wild to think this show could be canceled after season 2, but until Netflix announces season 3, that’s totally possible, unfortunately.

We still don’t think it’s going to happen. There were some rumors going around recently that Outer Banks had been canceled. The good news is that those rumors aren’t true either. Netflix has not canceled Outer Banks.

There are even more rumors that Outer Banks season 3 is happening and that production is starting in early 2022. I would think those rumors are true based on production timelines, cast availability, and more.

We also have a Small Screen report that cites a source close to Outer Banks confirming Outer Banks season 3 AND season 4. The same report mentions a mid-2022 release date for Outer Banks season 3.

I think that’s probably true, but again, until Netflix makes any comment, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
