10 best not scary Halloween movies on Netflix
Little Evil
Release Year: 2017
Directed By: Eli Craig
Starring: Adam Scott, Evangeline Lilly, Bridget Everett, Owen Atlas
If you loved Zombieland (2013), look no further than the Netflix original movie Little Evil from the same director, Eli Craig! This TV-MA horror-comedy does come with some frights but is sure to produce more laughs than screams.
Adam Scott (Parks and Recreation) stars as Gary Bloom who becomes a step-father after marrying the love of his life Samantha, played by Evangeline Lilly (Ant-Man). Gary has trouble connecting with his 5-year-old step-son Lucas, a quiet boy who ignores him. As time passes, it becomes apparent that there’s something a little off about Lucas, maybe of the demonic variety. Gary must decide whether to step up as a parent to the Antichrist or sacrifice him to save the world.
Little Evil is a comedy-horror film that parodies the horror genre itself. You’re probably not a seasoned horror critic if you’re looking up not-scary movies on Netflix, but there are plenty of allusions to popular horror films you might catch. Little Evil can be viewed as a satirical remake of the 1976 film The Omen, which has the same premise of an Antichrist child, but with a comedic twist.
