More and more hit shows are finding their way to Netflix, including popular CBS series like S.W.A.T. and Young Sheldon. Unfortunately, the critically acclaimed comedy series Ghosts hasn't yet joined its network-mates on Netflix, but the show would for sure find even bigger success if it ever started streaming on Netflix.

Ghosts, which is based on the British series of the same name, centers on a married couple who inherits a family-owned country house and discovers it's haunted by comedic ghosts. The series first premiered on CBS back in October 2021 and became a stable ratings player for the network. Now in it's third season, CBS renewed the show for season 4 a couple weeks into season 3.

Ghosts streams on Paramount+

The series airs new episodes on Thursdays at 8:30/7:30c on CBS, and the five most recent episodes are available to stream for free with ads on the CBS website. In order to stream the first two seasons as well as every episode of season 3 (and the upcoming fourth season and beyond), the series is available to stream on Paramount+. You can even watch the series live if you're subscribed to Paramount+ with Showtime.

How to sign-up for a new account on Paramount+:

1. Go to the Paramount+ homepage and create an account.
2. Choose which plan you want.
3. Enter your payment information and finish setting up your account.
4. Search for Ghosts and start watching!

Below you'll find the two best Paramount+ plans and their pricing. Choose the option that best suits your needs. The least expensive option (Paramount+ Essential) comes with less content and limited ads, while Paramount+ with Showtime includes more content and doesn't have ads. It depends on the viewer which experience works best for what you need!

Plans

Price

Paramount+ Essential

$5.99/month after 1-week free trial or $59.99/year after 1-week free trial

Paramount+ with SHOWTIME®

$11.99/month after 1 week free trial or $119.99/year after 1 week free trial

If you're signing up for the streaming service just to watch Ghosts, the essential plan might be the better bet, but the Showtime addition opens up your watch list to lots more premium content that's a bit in line with Ghosts. Still, the essential plan will allow CBS fans to exclusively watch the newest episodes of the network's top shows before they're available anywhere else.

While the show would definitely fit right on on Netflix, and we should all keep our fingers crossed that it will someday become available on the service, it's definitely worth checking out. Here's a little bit more about the show, as described by CBS:

"Samantha and Jay throw caution to the wind when they convert their recently inherited country estate into a bed-and-breakfast. Call it mislaid plans. Not only is the place falling apart, but it’s also inhabited by spirits of previous residents – whom only Samantha can see and hear. Ghosts spins the funny, heartfelt story about a newfound dream that reveals connection and self-discovery aren't just for the living."

The show features two familiar faces around Netflix: Rose McIver, who starred in Netflix's A Christmas Prince trilogy, and Utkarsh Ambudkar, who had a recurring role in the teen comedy series Never Have I Ever. The comedy boasts an excellent ensemble cast as the ghosts, including:

  • Brandon Scott Jones as Captain Isaac Higgintoot
  • Danielle Pinnock as Alberta Haynes
  • Richie Moriarty as Peter "Pete" Martino
  • Asher Grodman as Trevor Lefkowitz
  • Sheila Carrasco as Susan "Flower" Montero
  • Devan Chandler Long as Thorfinn "Thor"
  • Rebecca Wisocky as Henrietta "Hetty" Woodstone
  • Román Zaragoza as Sasappis "Sass"

However, if you're not quite ready to add a new streaming service to your lineup and you'd like to stay put on Netflix, the streaming service has plenty of similar content. For titles that are like Ghosts, make sure to check out School Spirits (a Paramount+ original currently streaming on Netflix), We Have a Ghost, Afterlife of the Party, Julie and the Phantoms, Lockwood & Co., God's Favorite Idiot, The Good Place, and Boo, Bitch. There's both action and comedy, and sometimes both!
