Does Sherry die in You season 3?

Going into You season 3, you’d be mistaken if you’d think there wouldn’t be any kills. Throughout the first two seasons, we’ve seen antihero Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley) murder a handful of people without any guilt, and just because he’s now married with a child in the new installment doesn’t mean that same life is about to end for him.

The 10 new episodes of the Netflix Original just dropped today, and it’s bound to be a fun binge for any thriller fans this weekend. Just in time for Halloween in a few weeks, Joe and Love Quinn (Victoria Pedretti) are coming for the crown of toxic horror couples, but they’re no Chucky and Tiffany. Joe and Love are rarely ever on the same page, which leads to plenty of mishaps this season.

Spoilers ahead for You season 3.

We thought in You season 2 that Joe had met his match with Love, but really, these two being together just creates more chaos. This is proven by the first episode of season 3 when Love kills their neighbor Natalie (Michaela McManus) after suspecting Joe might’ve been unfaithful with her.

Joe, convincing himself he’s starting a new life without murder now that he and Love have a baby and have moved to a new town, is angry with Love’s decision to kill Natalie. He starts to lose trust in her, and they both continue to do reckless things.

One prime example is what goes down with Sherry Conrad (Shalita Grant), Love’s fake influencer friend in town, and her husband Cary Conrad (Travis Van Winkle). Right off the bat, Joe can’t stand them, and it’s evident Love is only friendly with them so she’s included in Madre Linda’s social circle.

After discussing it, Joe and Love agree to have a foursome with Sherry and Cary. Love believes this might spice up their marriage, while Joe is already falling in love with his boss at the library, Marienne (Tati Gabrielle), and wants Love to be distracted.

While they’re all together that night, however, Love gets freaked out seeing Joe and Sherry hook up. She storms downstairs and when Joe comes to confront her, they address Natalie’s murder extremely loud. Yes, loud enough for Sherry and Cary to hear upstairs.

Joe and Love know they must at least keep Sherry and Cary hostage to ensure they don’t talk. They lock him in the basement of Love’s bakery in a cage, and their non-plan begins falling apart.

Love sees the most of Sherry and Cary, going down to the basement to feed them and briefly speak with them. Sherry and Love are even able to bond a little bit as Love’s life continues unraveling, and Sherry tries to work with Love to get on her good side.

This doesn’t work so well, however, as Love eventually gives Sherry and Cary a gun, instructing them that one has to shoot the other. “Stay together, die together,” she says.

Do Sherry and Cary survive in You season 3?

Sherry shoots Cary in the leg and after some time it seems like Cary won’t make it. However, fortunately for the pair, Sherry is able to find the hidden key in the cage.

The pair ultimately make it out alive, as we find out in the You season 3 finale, and they even write a couples’ book about the experience called “Caged.” The final time we see them, they’re successful as ever while sharing what happened to them with the world.

Sherry and Cary survive You season 3, but we can’t say the same for all the characters. Love ends up dying at the hands of Joe after he poisons her and leaves her for dead. Joe ultimately gives their baby away and starts a new life in France.
