Is Lucifer season 7 happening: Will there be another season of Lucifer?

Well, Lucifans another season of Lucifer is in the books and boy what an incredible, intense and emotional season it was.

Debuting less than four months after season 5 arrived in late May, Lucifer season 6 debuted on Netflix on Sept. 10 with the show’s latest 10-episode season dropping worldwide for fans to enjoy. Like most seasons of Lucifer, the season was another rollercoaster ride complete with shocking developments and twists we never saw coming!

As those who have finished the season already have seen, the final episode of season 6 seemed to tie the show up with a nice bow on top but is this truly the last time we’ve seen Lucifer and company, or is Lucifer season 7 in the works?

Will there be a Lucifer season 7?

Unfortunately, Lucifer season 6 was the final season of Lucifer as there are no additional seasons planned by Netflix. It’s for this reason why the season 6 finale felt so final, as it was not just a season-ending episode but the show’s series finale.

Originally, the plan was for Lucifer season 5 to be the show’s final season; however, in a surprising turn of events, Netflix had a change of heart and decided to order an additional season of the show. This surprising decision gave the writers another 10 episodes to bring the series to a close with one final storyline to wrap the series up, with season 6 serving as the final season of Lucifer.

Is Lucifer season 6 really the last season of Lucifer?

Considering Lucifer evaded cancellation twice during its lifetime, it’s understandable for fans to question whether season 6 is truly the final season or if Netflix might surprise us with a Lucifer season 7 renewal.

Unfortunately, this is really the end of the line as there are no plans for a seventh season of Lucifer with season 6 very much designed to be the show’s final season. In this day and age of television, we’ve learned to never rule out potential revivals, spinoffs, or special, but at this time there are no active plans at Netflix to continue the Lucifer franchise beyond season 6.
