Celebrations are in order for Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist! After NBC canceled the fan-favorite musical dramedy following its second season finale, it looks like Zoey has a few more heart songs left to sing after all.

As reported by TV Line, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist looks to be eyeing a big return in the form of a two-hour wrap-up movie on a streaming platform during the holiday season. But will the streaming platform Zoey’s singing and dancing her way to be Netflix?

Unfortunately not. While Netflix isn’t picking up Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, the savior in question for the musical dramedy happens to be the upstart streamer Roku. On top of Quibi cast offs, The Roku Channel also houses The Demi Lovato Show and Reno 911! among other titles.

Even though the future of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist doesn’t look exactly like we thought it would on NBC (or Netflix), it’s still exciting that the story could continue. But how will the story continue? The teases we have are already exciting!

Will there be a season 3 of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist?

Currently, it appears that the Roku edition of Zoey’s will be a two-hour movie rather than a full third season. However (and this seems like a big however right now), TV Line adds that if the movie performs well, Roku could possibly order additional episodes. Make sure to watch the movie!

Isn’t that incredible news?! The series went from canceled by NBC, a fate to which shows like Manifest and Good Girls can relate, to having a wrap-up movie picked up by a streaming service with additional episodes potentially on the horizon.

According to TV Line’s report, the main cast is expected to return for the Roku movie, and the stars are currently working out deals. The Zoey’s cast includes Jane Levy, Skylar Astin, Alex Newell, John Clarence Stewart, Andrew Leeds, Alice Lee and Mary Steenburgen.

It’s too soon to hypothesize whether Peter Gallagher and Lauren Graham will return for cameos in the movie, but we can keep our fingers crossed from the jump. Graham’s Disney+ series The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers was renewed for season 2, which could prevent a cameo.

Nevertheless, we’re hopeful for the future of Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist, even if it’s not returning to Netflix. Are you looking forward to more heart songs?
