A Series of Unfortunate Events

In 2017, Netflix adapted the novels by Daniel Handler, under the pen name Lemony Snicket, into a series. A Series of Unfortunate Events is a series the follows the story of the Baudelaire children who become orphans after the death of their parents.

The Baudelaire children, Violet, Klaus and Sunny, are placed in the care of a ‘relative,’ Count Olaf. It is discovered that Count Olaf’s only concern with the children is to gain control of their inheritance before they come of age. As they are shuffled from one home to the next with appointed guardians who have no real concern for the children, they must also watch as Olaf is constantly lurking, trying to get his hands on their fortune.

It is a fun family series. The cast does a great job of bringing the characters from the books to life. Neil Patrick Harris has been praised for his portrayal of Olaf. Other cast members include Patrick Warburton, Malina Weissman, Louis Hynes, K. Todd Freeman, Presley Smith, Lucy Punch, Dylan Kingwell, and Avi Lake.

Over the course of the three seasons of the series, each of the 13 books is represented. The series has been praised for its faithfulness to the novels and has been nominated for many awards.

Nailed It! Double Trouble

The reality baking series Nailed It! is in its fifth season, and the overall series has been nominated for two 2021 Emmys. That alone is enough to make people take notice of the series.

The fifth season is called Nailed It! Double Trouble, and it takes the baking series and mixes up the format. This season comprises teams of two vying for the $10,000 prize and coveted Nailed It! trophy. The judges will still look at how well the pair’s creation matches the original but also on the taste of the finished product.

The contestants are once again judged by co-hosts Nicole Byer and Jacques Torres, which is always good. If you have enjoyed the previous seasons, be sure to check this out. It has the same look and feel as previous seasons.
