5 best summer romance movies on Netflix

A Week Away 

A Week Away, a Musical is a Netflix original movie that premiered in March 2021. This film is a Christian musical teen drama that is a Camp Rock meets High School Musical film. The message is motivational.

Will (Kevin Quinn), a teen who has been in and out of foster homes since the death of his parents, comes to a point in his life where he has to choose between going to juvie or summer camp to help reform his ways. He chooses camp, and while he is there, he meets Avery (Bailee Madison), who tries to help him realize that a whole life awaits him if he will just seek it.

The Last Summer

Another Netflix original, The Last Summer, is a romantic comedy that follows a group of young adults in the last summer before heading off to college.

This film stars KJ Apa, known for his role as Archie Andrews in Riverdale. The movie focuses on multiple storylines of recent high school graduates and their last summer before entering college. They all experience different seasons of life, from romantic relationships to family troubles to friendships, as they try to enter the next phase of their lives.

The film also stars Maia Mitchell, Jacob Latimore, Halston Sage, Sosie Bacon, Wolfgang Novogratz, Gabrielle Anwar, Ed Quinn, Jacob McCarthy, Mario Revolori, Gage Golightly, Norman Johnson, Jr. and Tyler Posey.

Critics haven’t given the most positive reviews, but viewers enjoyed the film and loved seeing Apa, Maia Mitchell (The Fosters) and Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf-MTV) in other roles.
