Annie Murphy isn’t a little bit Alexis anymore. The Emmy Award winning Schitt’s Creek star has taken a new leading role in the dark comedy series Kevin Can F Himself (otherwise stylized as Kevin Can F*** Himself), which reconfigures the worn trope of the often mistreated sitcom wife.

Murphy stars in Kevin Can F Himself as Allison McRoberts, the wife of affable goofball Kevin (Eric Petersen), who’s come to the end of her rope when it comes to dealing with her husband’s happy-go-lucky demeanor. Suddenly, the sitcom wife breaks type and takes control of her own life.

If you’re not really sure what you’re signing up for with the dark comedy, the series blends both multi-camera aesthetics typical of classic sitcoms as well as a much more bleak single-camera. The juxtaposition visually conveys the tonal shift in Allison’s life when she’s around Kevin (multi-camera) and when she’s away from his stifling charisma (single-camera).

Given the popularity of Murphy’s role in Schitt’s Creek on Netflix, fans will naturally wonder whether they can catch her much darker comedy role on the streaming service as well. Here’s everything to know about Kevin Can F Himself, including where to watch the new show online.

What is Kevin Can F Himself about?

Even with the above description, some might still not fully understand what the series is about. So, it’s a sitcom? But it’s also a dark comedy? Well, yes. The series aims to take down the gendered stereotypes that pervade sitcoms, especially the wives playing the cooler head against their rambunctious husbands.

While this may be a bit of a spoiler for those who haven’t watched the trailer or the pilot episode, Kevin Can F Himself centers on Allison’s desire to leave her 10-year marriage. She fantasizes about killing Kevin as the only way to leave her current dismal situation and get a second chance at her life on her own terms.

Can you watch Kevin Can F Himself on Netflix?

Right now, the series airs exclusively on the AMC cable network, with new episodes debuting one week ahead of their televised airings on the network’s AMC+ streaming service. For the foreseeable future, these are the two sole ways to get your eyes on the new series.

Still, certain hit AMC shows have found their way onto Netflix. Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul and The Walking Dead continue to stream on Netflix, while Mad Men was once upon a time among the ranks. There’s no official word yet, but there’s a chance the series could arrive at a later date.

For now, be sure to catch the erstwhile Alexis Rose step into a role that’s much different from what we’re used to, and we’ll be sure to keep you up to date on its potential Netflix release date. Are you looking forward to Annie Murphy’s next Emmy nomination? We sure are!
