Is Lucifer renewed for season 6 on Netflix?

Lucifer season 5 part 2 heads to Netflix on Friday, May 28, with eight brand new episodes. Can you expect a season 6 of the beloved Netflix original series?

For those dedicated Lucifer fans who have been waiting since Aug. 2020 for the second half of season 5, Friday cannot arrive fast enough. Originally, season 5 of Lucifer was supposed to be the last season of the beloved series.

Is Lucifer season 6 happening?

Due to interest in Netflix for more, Lucifer was renewed for season 6 in 2020 with contract renewals for cast & crew.

Season 6 of Lucifer, the plot details of which are unknown, finished filming back in April 2021 with sad Instas and tweets from the cast saying goodbye to their characters. Fans were weeping. The cast & crew were weeping. Everyone was a puddle of emotions.

Currently, we know the episode titles for season 6 along with the 10 episode count, which puts it on par with season 4 of Lucifer.

As for when the Lucifer season 6 will be released? That’s the million dollar question. As we said, filming for the season has wrapped, but that doesn’t mean anything in the long run. Filming for season 5B finished in October 2020 and we’re only getting the episodes now in May 2021.

If you want a guess? Based on the release dates for Lucifer season 4 (May 2019), season 5A (Aug. 2020), and season 5B (May 2021)? Lucifer season 6 will probably be released around spring/summer 2022. This, of course, is only looking at past trends in terms of release dates for the series on Netflix.
