What is Selena: The Series Part 2 about?

Back in December 2020, Netflix blessed us with an original series that paid homage to the best Latin American female artist to have ever walked this Earth, Selena Quintanilla-Pérez.

The first part of Selena: The Series depicts the life of this young superstar including her humble beginnings, her rocky relationships, and most importantly, her love for music. Additionally, we saw how she struggled to keep her relationship with Chris Perez private, which is where part one left us.

With part 2 debuting on Netflix on May 4, 2021, you’re probably wondering which moments of Selena’s life will be shown and if part two will show her unfortunate, tragic demise.

Selena plot synopsis

Part 2 of the original series will continue from where part one left us and will also include some of the highlights of the musician’s career such as the performance of her iconic song ‘Bidi Bidi Bom Bom’.

You’ll get the chance to re-live the legendary moments and outfits that are still talked about twenty years later and while heartbreaking, it’ll warm your heart to see Selena, played by Christian Serratos, have genuine fun doing what she loves.

Additionally, the series will discuss her breakout from Los Dinos and her rise to her fame as a solo artist.

Here is the official synopsis for the new episodes, via Netflix:

"Now on the brink of stardom, Selena fights to remain true to herself, spend quality time with her family and her new husband, and expand her businesses. All the while, her journey to become the most successful female Latin artist of all time continues."
