Best shows on Netflix: Daredevil
The Marvel Cinematic Universe was becoming a massive endeavor to be held on the big screen, and fans were more than excited when they found out the story would expand onto Netflix with a new Daredevil series. The show would be based on the titular character from the comics who was created by writer-editor Stan Lee and artist Bill Everett, with an unspecified amount of input from Jack Kirby. The Marvel hero who would be dubbed the “Man without Fear” made his debut in Daredevil #1 In April 1964.
The Netflix original series follows Matt Murdock, who was in an accident as a child that left him blind but enhanced his other senses. He eventually grows up to become a lawyer by day and a crime-fighting vigilante commonly referred to as the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen.
The entire affair is chock full of easter eggs and homages to the source material, with several Marvel characters making an appearance over the course of the show, including Elektra and The Punisher. The action sequences are extremely well-crafted, including signature long shot sequences that can only be described a the stuff of legends. It also contains a lot of compelling drama worthy of awards recognition with a stellar cast consisting of Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Wolfe, Elden Henson, Rosario Dawson, Elodie Yung, and Vincent D’Onofrio.
There are three seasons of Daredevil available on Netflix.
