Shadow and Bone is an upcoming TV series based on Leigh Bardugo’s Grishaverse books.

From the trailer and what we’ve read about the series so far, it looks like the series combines characters from the first book of the Shadow and Bone trilogy, Shadow and Bone, and Bardugo’s Six of Crows duology. All of the Grishaverse books are set in different locations within the same world.

The series stars Jessie Mei Li as Alina Starkov and Archie Renaux as Malyen Oretsev. Ben Barnes also stars in the series General Kirigan, while Freddy Carter, Amita Suman, Kit Young, Sujaya Dasgupta, Danielle Galligan, Calahan Skogman, Daisy Head, and more round out the rest of the main cast.

Shadow and Bone premieres on Netflix on Friday, April 23, 2021. It seems like this series has the potential to be the biggest Netflix show of the year and one of Netflix’s most popular shows ever.

How can I watch Shadow and Bone?

If you have a Netflix subscription or you have access to a Netflix subscription, you can stream Shadow and Bone as soon as the Netflix original series is available.

The series premieres on Netflix at 12:01 a.m. PT on Friday, April 23, meaning you can stay up until midnight on Thursday night and watch the first few episodes as soon as the series drops. We know more than a few of Bardugo’s fans and fans of the Grishaverse will be doing that. You know we will be, too.

Unfortunately for those without a Netflix account, Netflix is the only place you can watch Shadow and Bone. The series is a Netflix original series, and for all intents and purposes, the series is only available to stream on Netflix.
