Each month at Netflix brings new series and movies that sound super interesting to watch. This month, Netflix released a bunch of new titles, and there are a few that stand out, specifically Ride or Die, a Japanese film.

The Netflix original film, Ride or Die, is making its way over to the platform this week (April 15) and the film definitely looks like one that may rank in the top ten. We tell you all about what to expect from this new release.

What is Ride or Die about?

Ride or Die, also known as Kanojo, is about how two women in love reignite their passion after years of being separated due to various circumstances including one of them being married to an abusive husband. Bringing a whole new definition to “better late than never,” the desire between Rei and Nanae only grows stronger as they attempt to forge a new life where love is in abundance.

Here’s the synopsis, via Netflix:

"Rei helps the woman she’s been in love with for years escape her abusive husband. While on the run, their feelings for each other catch fire."

The film features Japanese actresses Honami Sato as Nanae and Kiko Mizuhara, who plays Rei.

You may know Mizuhara from when she traveled alongside the Fab Five from the Netflix original series, Queer Eye, where she served as the group’s guide in Japan. However, Mizuhara puts a pause on her real-life cheerful nature and dons a dangerous persona in this new Netflix movie.

See her completely transform in the trailer below.

They’re in love, but they’re on the run. Hopefully, there is a happy ending in sight for these two lovebirds, but the only way to know is to watch. You certainly won’t want to miss all the love, drama, passion, and crime involved in this Netflix movie.

Ride or Die premieres on Thursday, April 15, on Netflix and we’re certainly tuning in, are you?
