Netflix is working on a huge deal to make not one but two Knives Out sequels. Variety reports that this deal will be one of the biggest streaming deals ever, coming in at a whopping $450 million, for Knives Out 2 and Knives Out 3.

Daniel Craig will reprise his role as the molasses talking Detective Benoit Blanc. Rian Johnson will once again direct, and he co-wrote the original film and the subsequent sequels with Ram Bergman. Johnson previously directed Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Looper and Brick. There is no news if Lakeith Stanfield will reprise his role as Blanc’s partner, Detective Lieutenant Elliott.

These now-Netflix original films will be a huge addition to the streamer’s catalog. Knives Out grossed $311 million worldwide, and the sequels are bound to do as well or even better on Netflix.

Is Knives Out 2 coming to Netflix?

Knives Out is a nod to Agatha Christie-type whodunit films that was expertly cast with many big names. In addition to Craig and Stanfield, the cast also consisted of Christoper Plummer, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, Katherine Langford and Jaeden Martell.

We are sure to hear more casting news soon since filming for the first sequel is scheduled to start in Greece on June 28, 2021, according to the report.

The storyline will likely follow another family like the Thrombeys from the first film. To be a whodunit-type of film, we need a family or group with secrets to create a little mystery.

Craig recently ended his five-movie run as James Bond. Hopefully, this franchise will run five movies, as well!

This is a huge deal for Netflix as the streaming market is saturated with new streaming services competing with one another. These Netflix movies will surely be big hits for the streaming service.
