There are so many great foreign films and television shows available to watch on Netflix and I’m here to tell you about one that came out this year. Dealer is a French crime drama about a filmmaker who decides to follow a drug dealer who aspires to be a famous rapper. Over the course of the series, the filmmaker realizes that he is in way over his head and must contend with the dangers of the drug trade. The series is shot like it’s a documentary.

I’m always looking for an excuse to use my rusty French, so I will definitely be adding this series to my watch list!

Dealer features the talents of Abdramane Diakite as Tony, Mohamed Boudouh as Moussa, Sébastien Houbani as Franck, and Idir Azougli as Steve.

The series was produced by Noor Sadar and Aurélie Meimon. The production design was done by Serge Borgel and the show’s cinematography was led by Julien Meurice. It was directed by Ange Basterga and Nicolas Lopez.

Dealer synopsis
