Pacific Rim: The Black

We turn out attention to some of the Netflix shows arriving this week. Both of these are anime, with Pacific Rim: The Black as the first one to check out. This one is aimed more toward adults whereas the second is aimed toward the whole family.

Pacific Rim: The Black follows two siblings in Australia after Kaiju ravages the country. The siblings need to find their parents, so they pilot a Jaeger to do just that. Of course, their journey isn’t as simple as getting from A to B.

Along the way, they run into all sorts of new creatures and people. Some of them turn out to be allies, but they’ll need to be careful about who they trust.

The series is based on the first two Pacific Rim movies. You don’t need to watch the movies to understand the series, but there will be Easter eggs for those who know them well.

Movies and shows on Netflix: Pokemon Journeys: The Series

Finally, it’s all about the fourth (and final) part of Pokemon Journeys: The Series. Yes, the third part only just recently dropped, but Netflix is treating us to the final installment already.

Ash Ketchum is now a Pokemon Master. It’s the dream he’s always had, and it’s time to return to Pallet Town in Kanto. While there, he befriends Goh, a trainer who has similar goals to him, and the two end up being hired by Professor Cerise.

Ash and Pikachu head out on a new journey. They need to find new Pokemon and battle strong trainers while they carry out the research they’re hired to do.

This is perfect for the younger members of the family. Watch it on Friday, March 5.
