Borat was a side-splitting affair starring Sarah Baron Cohen that quickly became an international sensation when it first arrived in 2006, and now that the Golden Globe-nominated sequel Borat Subsequent Moviefilm has released, many subscribers are hoping to relive the hilarity its predecessor had to offer on Netflix.

The character of Borat was first created on Baron Cohen’s series Da Ali G Show, which aired from 2000-2004, and when the film starring the whacky fictional individual came out, it was subject to controversy. But that didn’t seem to hinder its success as the movie earned $262 million at the worldwide box office off of an $18 million budget as well as earning a nomination for Academy Award for Best Screenplay.

The feature also known as Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan follows a Kazakh TV personality who is dispatched to the United States to report on what he calls the greatest country in the world. Followed by a documentary crew, audiences are subjected to a wild ride of hilarious debauchery in Borat’s attempts to hunt down and marry actress and certified bombshell Pamela Anderson.

There is no shortage of jaw-dropping moments and gut-busting shenanigans that make Borat a laugh riot from start to finish. It’s understandable why many consider the film must-watch material for those looking to roll on the floor cracking up, and its makes sense why Netflix subscribers are searching for the title within the streaming service’s extensive library of quality content.
