It’s Valentine’s Day and love is in the air (well, at least for these fictional characters).

We’ve compiled a list of the six best Valentine’s Day TV episodes currently streaming on Netflix that you can enjoy during a night-in with your SO or friends.

Whether you’re looking for some classic tropes or a special that goes off the beaten path, your Valentine lineup is right here.

Let’s get the list started with one of Community’s Valentine’s Day TV episodes.

Valentine’s Day TV episodes on Netflix

1. Community – “Early 21st Century Romanticism” (Season 2, Episode 14)

Not every Valentine’s Day episode has to focus on romantic love, and Community is great at showing that.

In this season 2 episode, Troy and Abed become rivals to see who can win the heart of the school’s librarian (choosing their friendship in the end) while Jeff has a falling out with the group and unwillingly becomes the host of an insane house party.

Like any great Community episode, it ends with a classic Jeff Winger speech touching on how important everyone in the study group is to him. While no one makes a romantic connection, they do become closer as friends.

2. New Girl – “Valentine’s Day” (Season 1, Episode 3)

If you’re looking for some light-hearted fun, this early New Girl episode is perfect for a cozy night on the couch! Jess is feeling lonely after realizing this is her first Valentine’s Day single in a long time.

Due to feeling restless, she calls upon the help of her friends to find her a handsome stranger for a one-night stand. Of course, shenanigans ensue and the characters see how crazy the notion of Valentine’s Day can make them.

3. Arrested Development – “Marta Complex” (Season 1, Episode 12)

In this classic episode, Michael gives a moving speech at Lucille’s Valentine’s Day party that has unseen consequences. Marta, Gob’s girlfriend, falls hard for Michael and Lindsey finds the motivation to finally divorce Tobias.

On a softer note, we do get to see Lucille learn a little self-care as she spends some time alone, which is a valuable reminder that Valentine’s Day can be about self-love too.

4. Orange Is The New Black – “You Also Have A Pizza” (Season 2, Episode 6)

This episode is on the more sentimental side as the inmates bake cookies and think back on past relationships.

It’s a fantastic dialogue-heavy episode that looks at different definitions of love ranging from comedically goofy to sincerely heartbreaking.

5. It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia – “The Gang Tends Bar” (Season 12, Episode 8)

*Not on Netflix US*

If you’re looking for an off-beat, but comedic Valentine’s Day episode, then this one is for you! Going back to the basics, the gang spends the entire episode at the bar “working”, but get sidetracked by a crate in the alleyway. Meanwhile, Dee gets upset when Charlie writes a Valentine to a tapeworm instead of her.

The only catch is that you can’t watch it on Netflix US. If you live outside the US, you can likely find It’s Always Sunny on Netflix, though.

6. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina – “Lupercalia” (Season 2, Episode 3)

If you’re someone who likes Halloween to dip its toes into other holidays, then might I suggest this Valentine’s Day-themed episode of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

This is a unique and fun episode of the series as it dives deeper into its own lore with the Lupercalia festival. While this episode features moonlit rituals and werewolves, it also includes the classic high school Valentine’s Day dance trope and a few budding romances.
