8. Ibiza

What if when you go on vacation (remember those?) you meet a hot DJ (who looks like Richard Madden) and he falls in love with you? If only! That is the premise of Ibiza. The film stars Gillian Jacobs, Richard Madden, Vanessa Bayer, Phoebe Robinson, Felix Gomez, and Michaela Watkins.

The film revolves around Harper, an exhausted woman who is overworked at her PR firm. Her boss, Sarah, never appreciates her or recognizes all the work she does. That seems to change when Sarah books her on a flight to Barcelona to secure a new client. To say Harper is excited would be an understatement.

Her friends, Nikki and Leah, might be more excited because they decide they are coming along whether she wants them to or not. And so their best friend vacation/work trip begins. They first end up in a night club in Barcelona where Harper meets Leo West, a popular DJ. They have instant chemistry but he will be leaving for Ibiza the next day.

This causes Harper and her friends to follow him and try to find him in Ibiza because Harper wants to take a chance on what she and Leo could have. And shenanigans and hijinks ensue, but she eventually meets up with him again.

Her friends remind her of her work meeting in the morning, but…well, let’s just say she has a good time the night before and wakes up late. Her friends try to stall for her but it doesn’t end up working.

What does work is Harper and Leo. They have to figure out the long-distance thing, but Harper actually going after what she wants has opened a whole new world of possibilities to her.
