Teen movies on Netflix: To All the Boys trilogy

Based on the young adult book series by Jenny Han, The To All the Boys trilogy follows the love story of Lara Jean Song Covey (Lana Condor) and Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo).

A romantic at heart, Lara Jean has written a love letter to every boy she’s ever loved and stashed them away in her mother’s hatbox in her closet. When those letters are unexpectedly mailed to these boys, including her sister’s ex-boyfriend Josh (Israel Broussard), Lara Jean is not only mortified but desperate to dissuade Josh from talking to her about her feelings. So, she kisses Peter, the most popular boy in school and another recipient of one of her letters.

It’s a decision that catapults the two into a fake dating plot that’s mutually beneficial. Their relationship should keep Josh at bay while simultaneously making Peter’s ex-girlfriend (and Lara Jean’s ex-best friend) Gen jealous. A win-win. However, when the two start developing feelings for one another things get complicated. Lara Jean has to decide if she truly wants her romance with Peter to end by the school ski trip or if she wants to give their relationship a go for real.

To All the Boys deals with the loss of a parent, minor discussions of sexual exploration, and mild language.

The first and second movie in the trilogy are available to stream. To All the Boys: Forever and Always, the third and last movie, will be available on Feb.12.
