Best teen movies and shows on Netflix in February 2021

Hello, Netflix Lifers! It’s February which means we have Black History Month documentaries and rom-com binges on the brain, but there’s always time to make room on our watch lists for the latest in teen content coming to the streaming platform.

Netflix, after all, is the king of teen programming. As such do expect monthly releases of Netflix originals, classics, international titles, and new-to-you series and movies geared toward their teen audience. If you haven’t been keeping up with what the streamer has on deck for teens, then you’ve come to the right place because we’ve got you covered.

This month Netflix got an abundance of romance, a sci-fi drama sure to pique the interest of The 100 fans, a beloved Nickelodeon classic, and a mother-daughter family drama that’s being touted as the successor to Gilmore Girls.

The Netflix teen train already got rolling in January with the much watched Fate: The Winx Saga. Let’s see where it takes us in February with Rocks!

Teen movies on Netflix: 1. Rocks

A coming-of-age story set in London, Rocks follows Olushola “Rocks” Omotoso, a young British teen who’s unexpectedly left to take care of herself and her brother Emmanuel after their mother abandons them. Rocks does her best to fend for them both without bringing attention to their circumstances. But when the stress of trying to pretend that everything is fine, and avoiding the authorities starts to take its toll, Rocks must learn to lean on her friends to help her through a situation she can’t come out of on her own.

Rocks will be available to stream on Feb. 1.

Teen shows on Netflix: 2. Love Daily

A romantic anthology web series, Love Daily, is comprised of 12 stories set across a year. From sexiled roommates to a Russian Olympic gymnast looking for tampons at a convenience store, this anthology runs the gamut of meet-cutes, holiday crushes, enemies-to-lovers, magical happenstances, and re-connections.
