Outer Banks season 2 rumored to have wrapped filming

Outer Banks season 2 is happening. It was not canceled as many fans seem to have read about online.

And, if the rumors are to be believed, production has wrapped on Outer Banks season 2.

According to What’s on Netflix, Production Weekly shared that production on Outer Banks season 2 was scheduled to end in December 2020. It sounds like things continued through January 2021.

Recently, Outer Banks star Chase Stokes shared a message with fans, which everyone is interpreting to be about season 2. The Outer Banks Twitter responded with a slate emoji.

Outer Banks season 2 is likely coming to Netflix in 2021

If the rumors about production on Outer Banks season 2 ending are true, that’s very good news for fans of the Netflix original series! We have not been able to confirm if production on season 2 has wrapped or if it’s just getting close to the end.

If Outer Banks season 2 has wrapped or is very close to being done, fans should get excited because it likely means season 2 is coming to Netflix soon.

How soon, we don’t know. But, we usually have to wait between four and eight months for new seasons of Netflix shows after they wrap production. I’d assume Outer Banks season 2 will be about a six-month gap between the end of production and the release date on Netflix. It could be a bit longer than that with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first season of Outer Banks started filming in May 2019, and the season was added to Netflix in April 2020. Production on Outer Banks season 2 started at the end of August 2021, so we’re looking July 2021 as the most likely release month for the upcoming season.

You might see some fans hoping the season arrives in the spring of 2021, but there’s probably too much to do to make that happen. We’re expecting the Outer Banks season 2 release date will be in July 2021.

That could change, though, as we learn more about the season, but it’s more likely that it would probably be pushed later into 2021 than released earlier than July.
