Canceled shows: Stumptown

Stumptown is another series that would do well at Netflix. The series stars Colbie Smulders as Dex Parious, a private investigator working and living in Portland, Oregon. It just makes sense that Netflix needs a procedural-type detective show like this.

ABC renewed Stumptown for season 2 following a successful first season. Yet, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was canceled to make room for other shows that could be filmed for the upcoming TV season.

There are reports and rumors that the series is getting shopped to other networks. It just makes sense that Netflix would step in and pick up a show like this. It has a built-in fanbase and Smulders is world famous for roles in How I Met Your Mother and the Marvel shows and movies.

Netflix should definitely save Stumptown, and maybe they will in time and with enough fan pressure.

We haven’t heard if Netflix is completely out on Stumptown yet. It’s been a while since we’ve heard anything, but I’m guessing, with the pandemic, it’s hard for these negotiations to take place when there are so many variables in play.
