Stranger Things star rumored to be playing Human Torch in Fantastic Four

Dacre Montgomery has been linked to play Human Torch in Fantastic Four

Disney recently announced that another Fantastic Four movie is in the works. Now, there’s a new rumor going around that a former Stranger Things star is rumored to be in line to play Human Torch in the new Fantastic Four movie.

Dacre Montgomery, who played Billy Hargrove in Stranger Things season 2 and season 3, is the Stranger Things star rumored to be playing Johnny Storm, also known as Human Torch, in Fantastic Four. 

It’s still early in the process, and there are many actors being considered for the movie, I’m sure. So far, nothing has been announced. It’s always good to take these rumors with a grain of salt at this point. Until something official is announced or confirmed, everything can change.

Montgomery would be an incredible Johnny Storm, though. I’m definitely in on this casting decision, if it actually happens. Montgomery is one of the best younger actors in the industry right now, and it only makes sense for Disney/Marvel or DC to get him involved with the superhero universes.

There’s been a lot of speculation that Montgomery could also be in line to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in the upcoming X-Men movies. We don’t have a lot of information about those movies or roles yet.

Whether as Human Torch or Wolverine, we know Montgomery will deliver. He delivered one of the best performances we’ve seen in Stranger Things as Billy in season 3. For parts of the season, Montgomery carried the story. I was shocked he wasn’t nominated for some awards for his role in the series.

I think I’d rather see Montgomery as Wolverine, personally, but I’d be happy with Montgomery in either role. I’ve seen Fantastic Four flop too many times, while X-Men always seems to do well. But, maybe Montgomery and this new Fantastic Four team will deliver something epic. The source material is there to make it happen.

As of right now, it doesn’t look like Montgomery will be back in Stranger Things season 4, which is currently in production. But, he might be!

We’re expecting Stranger Things season 4 to be released on Netflix in 2021.
