What’s new on Netflix in January 2021

Netflix just shared the full list of what’s new on Netflix in January 2021. That means it’s also time for Netflix to announce the full list of what’s leaving Netflix in January, as well.

You might notice the list is a little sparse on the big Netflix original shows that we’re so used to seeing every month. I think, and this is just speculation, we’re starting to see the effects of the production delays reflected on the list of Netflix new releases this month. We’ll probably see fewer new titles until this summer or so when production and filming gets caught up and back to normal, assuming that ever happens.

This month, we’d normally see new seasons of Grace and Frankie and Sex Education, and even more big releases in the first month of the year. Those shows are notably absent from the list. The pandemic caused production to shut down from March to, at least, August for many of those shows, so they’ve been pushed back even later in 2021.

Below, we shared the list of all the Netflix new releases for January 2021.

Cobra Kai season 3 will be the most-watched series of the month. This is the first season as a Netflix original series. The third season picks up right where season 2 ended and on that cliffhanger.

Springbreakers

CRACK: Cocaine, Corruption & Conspiracy

This is going to be one of the most-watched Netflix documentaries of the month. Documentaries about drugs and drug scandals always do well on Netflix, and I’m assuming this will be no less popular.

The documentary focuses on the 1980s and the crack epidemic in America. It also shows the response and role in the crisis by local and federal governments and how minority communities were not only and particularly affected but are still feeling those effects decades later.

The Intouchables

Last Tango in Halifax season 4

An Imperfect Murder

Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer

I fully expect this series to be super popular in January, as well. Netflix fans love true crime, and this looks like one of the true crimiest series of them all. The series follows a serial killer in 1985 and the investigation into the crimes.

Bling Empire
Carmen Sandiego: Season 4

Disenchantment: Part 3

Disenchantment season 3 was supposed to be released on Netflix in 2020, but it was delayed until January 2021, likely, because of the pandemic, although we don’t know that for sure. Fans have been waiting a long time for this series and to find out what Bean and the gang are up to. Now, you only have to wait a little bit longer!

Double Dad (Pai Em Dobro)
Henry Danger: Seasons 1-3
Hook (1991)

Blown Away: Season 2

Busted!: Season 3

Fate: The Winx Saga

Fate: The Winx Saga should be one of the biggest Netflix releases of the month. The series is based on an Italian cartoon, according to Netflix. It tells the story of fairies attending a magical school. It sounds like it’s a teen drama with monsters and magic mixed in.

Not everyone is happy about this series, though. According to Decider, some fans are accusing Netflix of whitewashing the cast.

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Season 2

Jurassic World season 2 is going to be another big series at Netflix for the upcoming month. The second season will likely pick up where the first season left off. If you haven’t seen Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous on Netflix, you have plenty of time to watch.
