Stanley Hudson of The Office loves pretzel day and we love him.

The Office has many amazing characters, and one guy who is generally quiet but can steal an episode with his one-liners is Stanley Hudson.

Leslie David Baker portrayed Stanley and made him one of those guys who is generally quiet and minds his own business. But, occasionally, he will snap and let loose, giving us some very memorable moments. “Did I stutter?” is his famous line from the series, followed closely by “Boy, have you lost your mind, ’cause I’ll help you find it.” Lines like these make his character a fan favorite, and below, we list some of the great things about Stanley Hudson.

We shared a few reasons why we love Stanley from The Office, which is one of the most popular shows on Netflix right now.

1. His passion for giving toasters as gifts

Evidently, Stanley feels it is appropriate to give a toaster as a wedding gift. More than once, he mentioned that he bought a toaster for Roy and Pam, but the wedding never happened. He was stuck with the toaster because the store wouldn’t let him return it.  When Phyllis and Bob Vance get married, he would gift them a toaster, probably the one from the previous wedding, but Jim announced he and Karen got them a toaster. At Pam and Jim’s wedding, the couple arrives late, and before they arrive, Stanely gets angry because he might have to take back the toaster he got for them.

2. Stanley is a ladies man

Stanely was married to Teri and had two mistresses, Cynthia and Lydia. Often, he was involved with all three ladies. Now, I am not condoning extramarital affairs, but bravo to Stanley for being able to juggle them all. Most men have trouble handling one wife or girlfriend, but Stanley can handle three.

3. His ‘loyalty’ to Dunder Mifflin

This is the man who sits around the office doing crossword puzzles and is completely oblivious to his surroundings. He constantly complains about his employer and his co-workers. But, he never leaves or looks for another job. Is this loyalty?

I think he is loyal to this company that he has worked for close to 30 years and knows retirement isn’t far off. And, I think Stanley knows it will be hard work to look for employment elsewhere.

4. His Florida style

Until the prospect of a trip to Florida comes about, we never see Stanely too energetic about anything. But, once he is in Florida, I think the true Stanley comes out. He rents an expensive sports car and starts wearing tourist type shirts. He tells Jim that he is on vacation, which gives him new energy and zeal for life.  It must be the Florida climate because we find out Stanley moves to Florida City at the end of the series.

5. His enthusiasm for Pretzel Day

Besides Florida, Pretzel Day is the only thing that brings Stanley any joy. We see a new side to him during the annual pretzel day episode. He is smiling and actually aware of his surroundings. He even gets along with Michael on this day. One of his memorable lines is uttered on that day is:

"“I wake up every morning in a bed that’s too small, drive my daughter to a school that’s too expensive, and then I go to work to a job for which I get paid too little, but on pretzel day? Well, I like pretzel day…”"

Stanley is usually grumpy and unapproachable, but that doesn’t stop fans from loving his character.

The Office will be leaving Netflix at the end of the year, so get your last binge-watching in before it goes.
