While 2020 has been a hard year, there have been some excellent TV shows to come during it. It’s time to look back at the best teen Netflix shows in 2020.

For the purpose of this post, we’re only looking at Netflix originals rather than all the TV shows that have dropped on the service throughout the year. That means Dawson’s Creek, Moesha, and so many other excellent shows from the past won’t make it to the list.

The shows also have to have had new episodes drop during the year. There is a technicality on the list, but I’ll get to the reason for that.

So, if you’re looking for something to watch with the teens in the house or you just want a teen drama, these are the top five teen Netflix shows from 2020 to check out right now.

Cursed

There’s nothing better than a well-created retelling of a story we’ve all come to know and love. Cursed gave us the story of the Lady of the Lake from the Arthurian legends. At the same time, it twists a lot the legend we’ve grown up with.

Cursed follows Nimue, a teenage sorceress who is given an important task: get a special sword to Merlin. Of course, she learns that the task isn’t going to be easy along the way.

This is more than just a supernatural series. Nimue learns a lot about herself and the world while on the journey. She falls in love, learns who she can and can’t trust, and figures that not everyone out there is only out for themselves.

We’re still waiting to hear about a second season. It certainly needs it.
