Did Vince shoot Jack in Virgin River season 2?

Calvin was the first person I thought about when we saw Jack on the ground, bleeding out from a bullet wound. Then, I started thinking about it. There’s one person relatively unaccounted for in the Virgin River season 2 finale, and that’s Vince.

Vince is Michelle/Paige’s brother-in-law, and he arrived in Virgin River to look for his brother, Wes, who was killed by accident in Paige’s house. Preacher covered it up and Paige left town, but Vince is still digging around. He introduced himself to Preacher at the bar and sent him a warning.

I think there’s a pretty good chance that Vince was looking into something at the bar, maybe looking for evidence that Preacher was involved or something like that, and Jack showed up and they got into a fight. Vince wouldn’t want to kill Jack, and that’s what makes me think he would shoot Jack to flee from the bar.

This theory isn’t my favorite, honestly. Vince seemed like a bad guy, obviously, but this would be an interesting direction to take the story. It would feel a little cheap, honestly, given that Jack doesn’t know Vince and Vince doesn’t know Jack yet.

But, it would make sense for something like this to happen from a story perspective, and that’s why I’m leaving it as a potential option. Let’s take a look at Suspect No. 3.
