Netflix movies and shows: 10. Wine Country

Here’s a movie that I found unexpectedly inspiring! Don’t get me wrong, I knew I would enjoy this movie, how could I not with such a stellar cast?

Wine Country, the Netflix original movie, stars Amy Poehler, Rachel Dratch, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer, and Tina Fey. It’s literally as if these real-life best friends got together and decided to create a movie where they could just have fun on set.

In fact, I’m willing to bet that’s exactly what happened. Knowing I was in for some laughs, I watched it as soon as it premiered on the streaming titan. Needless to say, I wasn’t disappointed. However, I’m not the movie’s target audience, so I was surprised to walk away with new lessons learned a sense of motivation.

Wine Country follows a group of friends who have known each other for decades. Can you say friend goals? The point of the trip is to celebrate Rebecca’s (Dratch) 50th birthday! That’s right the big 5-0. But it’s really also an excuse to just get away and break from the old routine. These women deserve it!

During their time together, the friends tackle topics such as their bodies, getting old, and friendship. There will be laughs, tears, and many shenanigans.
