’80s stars we want to see in Stranger Things season 4

Happy ’80s Day for Stranger Things Week!

Stranger Things is filled with ’80s nostalgia throughout all three seasons. Not only do we get the ’80s vibe and look through props and music, but we also get to see some of the ’80s most talented actors grace the screen once again.

The Duffer Brothers really went for it all when they reached out to Winona Ryder to be the face of the series, at least in the first season. With the show’s success and her brilliant performance, we’ve gotten to see her in all three seasons so far with the fourth being filmed now.

One of the other bigger ’80s stars to join the Stranger Things team was Sean Astin. Astin is best known for his role in The Goonies, which is one of the best 80’s films of all time. Unlike Ryder, Sean’s character, Bob Newby, was only with us for season 2. The Duffer Brothers said that Sean lasted a lot longer than they originally anticipated because he was so loved on set.

But what other 80’s stars would we like to see in Stranger Things season 4 and beyond? Let’s take a look at a few now!

1. Michael J. Fox

Stranger Things gave a nod to my favorite film of all time in season 3, Back To The Future, and number one on my list is Michael J. Fox.

Michael J. Fox would be a huge addition to the Stranger Things cast. He’s probably the most famous actor from the ’80s, and adding him to the cast of Stranger Things would be a big deal.

I could see Michael J. Fox becoming a full season character, and I would actually like to see him be on the bad side of things, against the kids or adults, kind of like Mayor Kline is season 3!

2. Ralph Macchio

The Karate Kid himself! It’s hard to think of ’80’s films and not think about The Karate Kid. The Karate Kid was one of the best movies of the ’80s and Ralph Macchio was a big reason why.

Having Macchio partner up with Murray in some way would make a whole lot of sense to me. The chemistry between those two would be phenomenal.

Macchio is currently on the hit series Cobra Kai so the likelihood of him making an appearance is highly unlikely, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t make a great addition to the Stranger Things cast, even if it was just for an episode.

3. Molly Ringwald

Yes! The actor who was discovered by the late great John Hughes. She’s best known for her roles in The Breakfast Club and 21 Candles.

Ringwald would make a great addition to the Stranger Things cast. I believe she would be great in a motherly type role. I honestly wish they could’ve gotten her to make a cameo in season 2 to play Max’s mom.

Ringwald is such a talented actor, and I would have no worries about her fitting in and doing a great job. She currently plays Archie’s mom on Riverdale, but I could see the Duffer’s making a strong push for her if they already haven’t.

4. Bruce Willis

Now tell me this wouldn’t be absolutely amazing to see. Stranger Things continues to get better each and every season. With every season comes more action and there are not many people that represent 80’s action like Bruce Willis.

Bruce is best known for his pretrial of John McClane in the 1988 classic Die Hard.

With all of the action that Stranger Things continues to show, I wouldn’t mind seeing a Bruce Willis vs Hopper showdown. Now that may be asking for too much but either way, Bruce Willis would make a great contribution to Stranger Things!

5. Judd Nelson

Yes, I know. This is the second Breakfast Club cast member that I’ve included on this list but it just fits. When I think of classic movies, especially in the ’80s and even early ’90s, I think about John Hughes and the actors he casts in his films.

Judd Nelson who is best known for his role in the ’80s classic, The Breakfast Club, would fit in great with the cast of Stranger Things. Seeing him back on the screen once again would give me goosebumps.

I’m not exactly sure what role he could or would play amongst the Hawkins community but he would be great in a few episodes. Seeing him play a badass character as he did in The Breakfast Club is something I believe the Duffer brothers would be highly interested in.

In all honesty, it’s so hard to make a list or make a list of only five ’80s stars we’d love to see in Stranger Things because there’s just too many.

Hopefully, we get to see more ’80s stars in Stranger Things season 4 and beyond.
